چکیده

This paper describes the field of the detection and attribution of climate change and highlights recent progress, major issues, and future directions. The attribution of global temperature variations over the past century to a combination of anthropogenic and natural influences is now well established, with the anthropogenic factors dominating. Other aspects of the climate system, including regional quantities, are increasingly being found to also show a detectable signal of human influence. Of particular interest, though, is the attribution of changes in nonmeteorological quantities, such as hydrological and ecological measures, and of changes in the risk of extreme weather events to anthropogenic emissions. Methods are being developed for tackling these two problems, but are still in the early stages. As the field gradually includes a service focus, the biggest challenges will become the integration of various approaches into an overall framework and the communication of the capabilities and limitations of that framework to the outside community.

آشکارسازی تغییرات بارش‌های حدی و نسبت دهی به تغییر اقلیم با استفاده از روش استاندارد انگشت نگاشت بهینه (مطالعه موردی : جنوب غرب ایران)

Understanding the changes in extreme precipitation over a region is very important for adaptation strategies to climate change. One of the most important topics in this field is detection and attribution of climate change. Over the past two decades, there has been an increasing interest for scientists, engineers and policy makers to study about the effects of external forcing to the climatic va...

Has There Been Any Discernible Human Influence on Atlantic Hurricane Climate?

Detection and attribution of a human influence on climate, or some aspect of climate such as hurricane frequency, involves detection of an unusual change (outside the range of internal climate variability) in the data, and then attribution of the change to a specific anthropogenic influence, such as increasing greenhouse gas concentrations or anthropogenic aerosols. Attribution as used here mea...

Methods for climate change detection and attribution

Detection and attribution (D&A) have played a central role within the assessment of the human influence on climate and within IPCC’s reports. Detection involves the statistical demonstration that a change has happened within climatic observations. Attribution consists in assessing the respective contributions of one or several causes to some observed change. Both require the use of climate mode...

نسبت‌دهی تغییرات در متغیرهای اقلیمی به نوسانات درونی اقلیم و افزایش گازهای گلخانه‌ای (مطالعه موردی: حوضه آبریز کرخه)

Since climate change is regarded as a serious threat to different parts of life cycle, separation of factors intensifying this phenomenon seems necessary. This research has investigated the temperature and precipitation trend using the multiple trend test in the upstream Karkheh basin located in west of Iran. For this purpose, two-dimensional graphs of temperature and precipitation anomalies of...
